The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1978, Ouagadougou, as a specialized financial institution of West African Economic Community (CEAO), by virtue of Article 3 of Protocol 'M' of the CEAO Treaty. First programme of subsidies approved Oct 1980. Also known by the French initials FOSIDEC/CEAO. Previously referred to in English as Solidarity and Assistance Fund for the Development of the West African Economic Community. Ceased to exist.


Promote economic and social development of Member States and help achieve a balanced regional development of the Community.

Intervenes by guarantee and counter-guarantee of loans, financing of studies, grants and interest rate subsidy, granting of loans and equity participation. Beneficiaries are member states and public and private corporate bodies and individuals within them. All areas of economic activity are covered: industry, agriculture, livestock rearing, fishery, trade, transport and telecommunications, infrastructure, tourism and social investment.
