7 Sep 1986, Harare (Zimbabwe), at 8th Conference of Heads of State or Government of Non-Aligned Countries, within the framework of F-XK0563 - Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) and its E-XC2507 - Coordinating Bureau of the Non-Aligned Countries. Reaffirmed at meeting of Heads of State of Africa Fund Committee countries, 24-25 Jan 1987, Delhi (India). Terminated 1992, Jakarta (Indonesia).

Aims

Strengthen economic and financial capability of the Frontline States to fight the apartheid regime in Pretoria (South Africa) and to support liberation movements in South Africa and Namibia in their struggle against racist and colonialist oppression; assist Frontline States to enforce sanctions against South Africa and cope with any retaliatory economic action.

AFRICA Fund Summit -- Sommet du Fonds AFRICA. Action for Resisting Invasion, Colonialism and Apartheid Fund Committee (AFRICA Fund Committee) -- Comité du Fonds d'action pour résister à l'invasion, au colonialisme et à l'apartheid, consisting of India (Chairman), Zambia (Vice-Chairman) and 9 members. Government of India ha set an informal secretariat for the AFRICA Fund. Under an agreement, the State Bank of India (SNI) manages the AFRICA Fund Account.
