1976, as a consultative body to H-XF1631 - Independent European Programme Group (IEPG). Became independent in 1990. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. Merged with D-XD0784 - Association of European Space Industry (EUROSPACE) and H-XD1245 - European Association of Aerospace Industries (AECMA) to form D-XJ4116 - Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD).
Be the recognized European industrial consultative group on defence and security matters and thus the forum for coordinating European defence industry advice and recommendations to Western European Armaments Group, European Commission and European Parliament on initiatives concerning European defence technology and industrial base, including the European defence equipment market.
