Coordinate activities of societies for surgery of the hand by: maintaining liaison; promoting exchange of knowledge; increasing opportunities for study; establishing standards of nomenclature, classification, evaluation and treatment; collecting and disseminating information; improving education and research; studying socio-economic impact of disorders of the hand; furthering availability of hand surgery and cooperation among hand surgeons.
