History

Founded on the initiative of a group of 8 independent members of F-XF0667 - European Parliament (EP), and comprising 8 political parties. Was at one time a sub-group of the previous U-XF2708 - Rainbow Group. Officially founded as a federation of parties, 1994, in accordance with the provisions of Article 138 A of the Treaty of the Union. Founded as a political party under current title according to new EU regulation (EC 2004/2003), 26 Mar 2004, Barcelona (Spain). Officially recognized as a European Political Party, 13 Oct 2004.

Aims

Defend the right to self-determination of peoples; promote European historic languages and cultures; activate cooperation among democratic and progressive nationalist and regionalist political parties in a European perspective; represent European stateless nations, regions and minorities, giving more competences and better representation to the European Union regions; voice the shared concerns of stateless nations, regions and minorities; defend the environment; promote subsidiarity, justice and equal chances and opportunities for all peoples of Europe.
