Founded during International Congress of Biophysics convened on the initiative of C-XC2768 - International Union of Pure and Applied Physics (IUPAP); a preliminary meeting, Jul 1960, Amsterdam (Netherlands), having set up a Steering Committee and a Constitution Committee.
Aims
Organize international cooperation in biophysics; promote communication among the various branches of the subject and, within each country, cooperation among societies representing the interests of biophysics.
