Aims
Protect and promote human rights, peace and democracy in the region by providing a forum to foster a culture of dialogue and to develop regional networks among human rights, social and peace activists, journalists, academics and policy makers; campaign for regional standards for protection of minorities, refugees and indigenous peoples; work for implementation of national, regional and international human rights instruments in the region; expose human rights abuses, especially in situations of conflict; challenge impunity provisions; strengthen civil society peace activism; explore non-violent ways of negotiating conflict and effecting reconciliation.
