History
Mar 1973, Bangkok (Thailand), as Asian Inter-Cultural Forum on Development and Justice. Subsequently known as Asian Religious and Cultural Forum on Development. Changed title to Asian Cultural Forum on Development, 6 Jun 1975. Current title adopted, Oct 2000. Has also been referred to as Asia Forum for Cultural Development (AFCOD). Constitution amended at first Council, 14-16 Jun 1975. Approved by Royal Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thailand.
Aims
Empower grassroots' communities towards determining their quality of life, future and destinies; promote a wholesome society and a harmonious ecosystem; develop a holistic, gender sensitive, sustainable and spiritually motivated development paradigm; facilitate and support peoples networking within and outside the Asia-Pacific region.
