Founded 1976. Previously referred to in English as Latin American, African and Asian Low-Income Housing Service. In French also referred to as Fédération internationale de services latino-américains et asiatiques de promotion de l'habitation populaire. Sometimes also referred to in French as Service latinoaméricain, asiatique et africain de logement populaire. Registered in accordance with Belgian law.
Support projects that provide decent living accommodation for the poorest urban families; encourage transfer of land-title to project beneficiaries; facilitate the creation of locally-based networks and assistance to urban poor communities to help them obtain and/or upgrade their houses and settlements.
Headquarters in Kraainem (Belgium); Affiliate based in Santiago (Chile).
