History

1981, as a joint programme of Christian Conference of Asia (CCA) and Federation of Asian Bishops' Conferences (FABC). Independent since 1992.

Aims

Assist in consciousness-raising among women workers in formal and informal sector in Asia towards realization of the commonalities of their situations, problems and analyses; support the organizing efforts of the organized women workers to effect favourable changes in their lives; facilitate networking and linkages amongst women workers and related groups within and outside Asia for solidarity and support.

Women workers exchange programmes; joint local programmes like national workshops; guided training programmes; sub-regional workshops; regional consultations; publications; documentation and research; urgent appeals and solidarity support for women workers' actions.
