The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Aug 1978, when an Association Centre d'études et d'expérimentations économiques et sociales pour l'Afrique de l'Ouest, was set up as an international association registered in accordance with Swiss law, previously a centre having been created in 1960 by the White Fathers. Previously also referred to as Centre d'études économiques et sociales de l'Afrique occidentale (CESAO). No activities reported for several years since 2015.

Aims

Promote adult education and training; help men and women to create conditions for a better life in the rural regions of Western Africa.

Activities

Assistance to peasant organizations. Attention focused on 9 fields of the rural development: organization of the rural world; the cooperatives; management of the agricultural exploitations; promotion of women; health; environment; development projects; training of trainers within the projects and bodies; faith and human promotion. Maintains a library. Undertakes pedagogical research and studies. Organizes international workshops and meetings, training sessions.
