Improve construction technology and management techniques currently used in European Union and EFTA countries; act as consultant in policy matters affecting the construction industry so as to influence ensuing legislation; monitor EU and European Economic Area (EEA) proposals and legislative procedures; make submissions to EU and EEA institutions; inform members of construction legislation developments in EEA; encourage and facilitate mutual recognition of building qualifications and free movement of individual members, acting as a forum for exchange of information and experience; promote protection of the public from unprofessional or unsound practice in buildings; improve education and postgraduate training of building professionals.
