The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1962, Paris (France). Structure modified: Oct 1967, Brussels (Belgium); May 1991, Stockholm (Sweden). Also known in English as: International Federation of Associations of Manufacturers of Maintenance Products; International Federation for Maintenance Products; International Federation for Household Products. Ceased to exist, Dec 1995, on merger with International Association of the Soap and Detergent Industry (AIS) to form International Association for Soaps, Detergents and Maintenance Products (AISE).

Aims

Examine all questions relating to the industry concerned with maintenance and kindred products; promote common interests and knowledge of the industry by its members; seek collective solutions to issues of general interest concerning public health and the environment; further consumer information and education; liaise with supranational bodies in preparation and evolution of regulations, directives and other legislation which relate to members' interests; provide guidance for member associations; collect, exchange and circulate information.
