Founded within the framework of D-XD2903 - League of Arab States (LAS).
Among member states: coordinate activities in peaceful applications of atomic energy for improvement of overall economic development; assist in capacity building and scientific information transfer; focus on training and support Arab scientists to attend relevant conferences related to peaceful uses of atomic energy; set up harmonized regulations on radiation protection, nuclear safety and security and safe handling of radioactive materials; develop an emergency response system; coordinate scientific and technical activities with concerned regional and international organizations; organize and sponsor relevant regional conferences; create scientific and technical awareness towards nuclear sciences through publication of scientific documents and translation of related rules and regulations.
