Founded by B-XB2743 - International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) and F-XF2488 - United Nations University (UNU). Ceased to exist.

Aims

Compile and interpret research data on consequences of deficiencies, changes or excesses in dietary energy intake; identify related research priorities and needs; publish policy statements and other information on the significance of chronic deficiencies and excesses of dietary energy; identify practical means of corrective action; promote corrective action among target groups.

Structure

Sponsored by UNU, with the endorsement of ACC-SCN, and by IUNS. UNU responsibility for the policies of IDECG is delegated to Steering Committee, consisting of a representative of UNU as Chairperson, Secretary General of IUNS and Executive Secretary of IDECG. Responsibility for the administration of IDECG delegated to Executive Secretary. Steering Committee guided by Advisory Group, consisting of 9 scientists.
