History
Founded during the International Forestry Students Symposium (IFSS). First IFSS held in 1973, London (UK), and resulting from this and subsequent Symposia INFOCENTER was created, an office established to coordinate exchange of information among forestry students. During 18th IFSS, 1988, Lisbon (Portugal), it was decided to expand cooperation beyond the Symposium by founding the IFSA. INFOCENTER took on official role as IFSA's communicative and informational organ. Became a truly worldwide organization when new statutes approved at 5th General Assembly and 22nd IFSS, 1994, Switzerland.
Aims
Enrich the formal education of forestry students through extracurricular activities; create cultural understanding through international meetings; enable students to take part in international policy events.
