Accelerate the transfer, adaptation and expansion of NGO initiatives demonstrating how urban communities can organize themselves to access basic environmental services. Provide financial, technical and administrative support to Asia-Pacific urban NGOs and NGO coalitions working in neighbourhood initiatives related to: solid waste disposal, clean air and water, energy and shelter; reversing degradation of urban land and ecosystems; avoiding occupation of hazard-prone areas; addressing issues related to sustainable livelihood, women and children; drawing public attention to such problems. Strengthen indigenous organizations. Support communications, networking and coalition building activities.
