Local entrepreneurs like Château St. Gerlach, MECC Maastricht conference centre, Eden Hotels Maastricht and Van der Valk Hotel Maastricht engaged in this enlightening short video. Since industrialization, many business sectors, including manufacturing and transportation, have contributed to the acceleration of global warming, and the MICE industry is no exception. Events such as exhibitions and conventions generate large amounts of waste, and carbon dioxide is emitted as visitors travel to event locations, further polluting the environment.

In late August 2023, the international ICESS conference (The 15th International Conference on Electronic Spectroscopy and Structure) was held in Oulu. The conference, that was held in Finland for the first time, gathered 190 participants from 24 different countries.

Every year, the Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) discovers and designates Busan Unique Venues, which are distinctive MICE assets found only in Busan. In 2023, three new Busan Unique Venues, each with its own unique charms, were selected to be the face of Busan’s MICE industry.
