History
Set up when agreement came into effect, Mar 2003, under the umbrella of D-XD2903 - League of Arab States (LAS), emerging from the Cairo Declaration, issued by the 1st Arab Women Summit, Nov 2000, Cairo (Egypt).
Aims
Empower Arab women and build capacities to promote progress of Arab societies; raise awareness of the necessity of engaging women as equal partners in societal development; coordinate Arab efforts so as to foster women empowerment and elevate awareness of their vital role in society.
