Mekong Institute (MI)
Operations started 1996, following Memorandum of Understanding signed between governments of New Zealand and Thailand, 1995. MI Charter came into force, 2003, on signature of 6 governments of the Greater Mekong Subregion. Thai Cabinet approved Headquarter Agreement to recognize MI as an IGO under Thai law, Jul 2007. Officially established as an IGO, 6 Nov 2009.
