Aims
Encourage and further the study of game fish angling, game fish species and habitat requirements of such species; analyse the pressure of sports fishing and commercial fishing on game fish species; ensure adequate representation for sport fisherman at all meetings where the future of the game fish population is being determined; develop and support game fish tagging programmes and other scientific data-collection efforts; formulate and support fair, uniform, and ethical international angling rules; accumulate and maintain a worldwide history of game fishing for the use and benefit of the public.

Executive Committee; Board of Trustees. International Committee, consisting of more than 250 sport fishermen, acts as liaison between members. Based at IGFA World Fishing Center, Dania FL (USA). U-XG4019 - International Light Tackle Tournament Association (ILTTA) comprises primarily North American member clubs of IGFA.
