Set up a maritime reserve in order to protect marine fauna in the Western Mediterranean which is threatened by pollution and intensive fishing; in particular, protect dolphins, turtles and whales from entanglement in fishing nets.

Has set up 100-mile coastal ecological protection zones - 'Zones écologiques protégées (ZEP)' - for the whole area. Undertakes research to determine the exact number of marine mammals living in the Western Mediterranean, the interaction of pollution with their environment and the causes for their beaching. Maintains a ship as a Permanent Observatory to act as a depository for information and data on marine fauna and marine fauna mortality. Organizes: annual international conference for scientific and legal experts from the 7 Western Mediterranean countries concerned; petitions for protection of dolphins; children's drawing competition.
