History

17 Dec 1988, within the framework of the Agro-Industrial Research Division, DG XII of European Commission (EC), for 1989-1993 period.

Aims

Improve links between agriculture and industry by encouraging close collaboration in individual research and technology development projects; promote application of new developments in the life sciences and in biotechnology; research, adapt and develop agricultural products designed for industrial use; research and promote new industrial techniques for processing and transforming agricultural raw materials; research and develop environmentally less harmful industrial inputs in agriculture.
