The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

30 Apr 1988, Lisbon (Portugal), at 1st General Assembly. Registered in accordance with Belgian law, 10 Oct 1988. Dissolved, 19 Oct 1999.

Aims

Promote the development and operation of training partnerships between universities and business enterprises, specifically UETPs, within the European Communities; assist in exchange and collaboration in training and advanced technology on a broad European level, extending to Eastern Europe and other continents.

Activities

Stimulates cooperation and innovation in educational and industrial exchanges. Develops and promotes the exchange of staff, students and training materials between partners. Originally based on Community Programme in Education and Training for Technology (COMETT), federates the partnerships known as University-Enterprise Training Partnership (UETP) and assists universities and enterprises to participate in the programmes of the European Union. Active in the European Open Learning sector. Organizes COMNET fora (twice a year). Working groups (5): Technology Transfer Training (TTT); East-West Collaboration (EWC), including 'Assistance for Cooperation in Trans-European Training (ACTT Project)'; Continuing Engineering Education (CEE); COMNET-TEL management information system; DELTA. Instrumental in setting up Association of Young European Professionals (ACJPE).
