Apr 1989, Brazzaville (Congo Brazzaville), under the guidance of B-XB3548 - WHO and U-XE0087 - International Commission of Health Professionals for Health and Human Rights (ICHP), replacing U-XG2352 - International Medical Forum for Human Rights. Also referred to in English as African Commission for the Promotion of Health and Human Rights.

Aims

Promote human rights in relation to health in Africa, working towards respect and application of the Hippocratic Oath and OF ethics and deontology of the medical profession; provide psychological and physical treatment and rehabilitation for victims of torture, repression and human rights violation and for their families; protect the most weak and vulnerable in society - victims of social injustice and political or religious fanaticism.
