Previously also referred to as Information Centre for Third World Women -- Centre d'informations pour les femmes du Tiers-Monde -- Centro de Información para Mujeres del Tercer Mundo -- Fraueninformationszentrum Dritte Welt and Women's Information Centre, Third World. Subsequently referred to as Information Center for Women from Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe (FIZ) -- Centro de Información para Mujeres de Africa, Asia, America Latina y Europa del Este. 'FIZ' derives from the German word 'Fraueninformationszentrum'.
