The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

Nov 1996, having being proposed 17 Sep 1992, Geneva (Switzerland), within the framework of U-XF2747 - International Disability Foundation (IDF). Officially opened 4 Jul 1997. Registered in accordance with French law. Closed down 31 Dec 1999.

Aims

Strengthen the international organizations of persons with disabilities by assisting them to: enhance their efforts of awareness raising and advocacy concerning the rights of equalization of opportunities and full integration in society; develop their national organizations; implement projects improving the conditions of their members through their national or local affiliates; cooperate with other international organizations of and for people with disabilities to have a stronger voice world-wide; share experience and best practice in institution building and development.
