1960, as European League of Societies for the Mentally Handicapped -- Ligue européenne des associations d'aide aux handicapés mentaux. Title changed, Oct 1962, to International League of Societies for the Mentally Handicapped -- Ligue internationale des associations d'aide aux handicapés mentaux -- Liga Internacional de Asociaciones pro Deficientes Mentales -- Internationale Liga von Vereinigungen zugunsten Geistig Behinderter. Name changed, 31 Mar 1981, to International League of Societies for Persons with Mental Handicap (ILSMH) -- Ligue internationale des associations pour les personnes handicapées mentales -- Liga Internacional de Asociaciones en favor de las Personas con Deficiencia Mental -- Internationale Liga von Vereinigungen für Menschen mit Geistiger Behinderung. Constitution revised at General Assembly, Nov 1988, Mexico City (Mexico); further revised after General Assembly, 1994, Delhi (India); Oct 2016, USA. Previously registered in accordance with Swiss law. Currently a UK Registered Charity: 1106715.
