The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1959. Commenced operations as a fully inter-continental organization, 15 May 1962, Caracas (Venezuela), at 1st World Congress, on adoption of charter and constitution. An organization of the same title had been in existence since 1951, Erns (Germany FR), when the youth section of the then 'Nouvelles équipes internationales (NEI)', now European Union of Christian Democrats (EUCD), was transformed into an organization with the title of the present IUYCD. Its structure changed again, 1959, Paris (France), when it became the European Regional Section of the new IUYCD. The youth section of the Christian Democratic Organization of America (ODCA) also changed its structure in 1959 to become the American Regional Section of IUYCD. No recent activity reported since 1995.


Contribute to the establishment worldwide of a social, economic and political democracy of Christian democratic inspiration; disseminate the Christian democrat ideal; prepare the younger generation of Christian democrats for political, economic and social responsibility.
