The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

within the framework of Agence universitaire de La Francophonie (AUF). Since formalization of Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF), 14-16 Nov 1997, Hanoi (Vietnam), an operating institution of 'La Francophonie'. Together with Système francophone d'édition et de diffusion (SYFED), activities integrated into the programme 'Technologies de l'information et de la communication et appropriation des savoirs'.

Aims

Provide a means of communication in the French language on the Internet for the French speaking scientific and educational community, updating the necessary software; provide a virtual reality campus, in particular a library; ensure functioning via other networks of a wide social communication network in French; ensure the presence of the Francophone community on the worldwide Internet.

Activities

The centres of the Système francophone d'édition et de diffusion (SYFED) which made up Réseau international des centres SYFED-REFER provided data and access to the Network. Expected to be involved in the proposed Université virtuelle francophone (UVF). FRAMONDE - virtual community offers assistance in use of the French language on the Internet to departments of French studies, French-speaking channels and university centres for French as a foreign language.
