Established as an informal, non-decision making forum for intergovernmental information exchange, within the framework of E-XE3016 - UNHCR. 'Consultations' initiated in 1985; Independent Secretariat, set up Jun 1991.
Act as a forum for information exchange and policy concertation among participating governments; through inter-governmental meetings in the framework of informal 'consultations' (senior official and expert levels), seek innovative solutions and strategies to the rapidly changing asylum, refugee and migration situation worldwide.
