16 Jul 1949, Florence (Italy), at Constitutive Conference, as Miners' Trade Unions International (MTUI) -- Union internationale des syndicats des mineurs (UISM) -- Unión Internacional de los Sindicatos de Mineros. Name changed, Mar 1983, to Trade Unions International of Miners and Workers in Energy (TUIMWE) -- Union internationale des syndicats des mineurs et des travailleurs de l'énergie (UISMTE) -- Unión Internacional de los Sindicatos de Mineros y Trabajadores Energéticos -- Mezdunarodnoe Obedinenie Profsojuzov Gornjakov i Energetikov. Listed name adopted, Sep 1985, when the miners left the organization in order to create H-XC6700 - International Miners' Organization (IMO). Last statutes adopted at Conference, 11-14 Dec 1990, Paris (France). Ceased to exist, 1996, when merged with H-XB3323 - Trade Unions International of Chemical, Oil and Allied Workers (ICPS) and H-XB3327 - Trade Unions International of Workers in the Metal Industry to form B-XB0005 - Trade Union International of Chemical, Energy, Metal, Oil and Allied Industries (TUI CHEMISTRY-ENERGY).
Aims
Support and unite within a world working people and their trade unions for a permanent and effective defence of their interests, negotiating collective agreements, participation in administering of institutions and in forming national energetic programmes; act for respecting social justice based on dignity and equality among people; support changes and socio-economic reforms in each country and on the international level, in order to build a more just world; act for peace and security and for ensuring a better natural environment.
