Proposal made, 1993, by Plantlife to Bern Convention Plant Expert Meeting for conference to discuss pan-European collaboration for plant conservation. Ministry of Environment (France) hosted first Planta Europa conference in 1995, Hyères (France). In 1996, draft constitution of Planta Europa agreed. Formerly the European programme for G-XJ3666 - Plantlife International (2000-2009). Original title: International Network of Administrations and Research Organisms Involved in the Plant Conservation in Europe (Planta Europa). Registered in accordance with Dutch law.
