Aims
Obtain greater transparency in the definition of sanitary situations by facilitating fulfillment of member countries' notifications to the OIE: coordinate technical information related to epidemiology of poultry diseases; promote coordinated sanitary programmes to prevent, control and eradicate agents or pathologies affecting poultry production and public health; exchange information; analyse and propose modifications and updates to OIE norms, regulations and international standards; promote generation and update of censuses, registries and sanitary controls of establishments of poultry industry and production in member countries; improve health, quality and control of poultry production by promoting educational programmes in member countries and facilitating access to information so as to develop members' knowledge of techniques and scientific advances in health, technical quality and controls of production; cooperate with all sectors involved in poultry industry and production so as to harmonize technical mechanisms that favour development of sanitary quality and prophylactic measures, promoting greater exchange of such among member countries.
