The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Promote, defend and safeguard the rights, privileges, interests and welfare of all staff members of ECA, especially with regard to their terms and conditions of employment; ensure that staff-management relations are in conformity with the principles laid down in the UN Charter, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, international labour norms and the UN Staff Rules and Regulations; contribute to promotion and achievement of the objectives of the UN Charter and development goals of the Organization and its member states; maintain working relations and cooperation with other staff unions or associations of the United Nations System with a view to promoting collective interest; promote a healthy and conducive work environment so as to enhance staff performance; promote good work practices and ethics among Union members to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of ECA.
