Aims

Link high level officials and experts from ministries and government agencies responsible for decentralization, strengthening regional and municipal administrations and civil society participation, in order to: enhance exchange of skills, information and experience at the highest government level within the framework of the OAS; develop general and strategic guidelines as a reference point for development and application of public policies to strengthen and guarantee continuity of the decentralization process - local government and citizen participation; provide follow-up and systematic support for implementing mandates of Summits of Heads of State and Government of the Americas in this area; promote activities with international, institutional and/or private organizations, so as to enable financing and cooperation for networks of experts, subregional and national forums, electronic and virtual links, horizontal technical advisory services, training courses and seminars, research and publications.
