Enable academics, students and other persons in universities and institutions of higher learning in Southern Africa to meet and exchange ideas and experiences that are of mutual interest to the region; identify and stimulate research on problems which are relevant to Southern Africa; evolve and develop methodologies of research and work which are appropriate to the Southern Africa situation.
