7 Sep 1951, Paris (France), as International Federation of National Associations of Engineers – Fédération internationale d'associations nationales d'ingénieurs, following decision, 22-24 Jul 1949, Constance (Switzerland) of the International Congress of Engineers, and a study session, 11 Jun 1950, Freiburg-Breisgau (Switzerland). Present name adopted 1956. Registered by French Ministerial Decree, 9 Jan 1952. Current statutes approved 5 Oct 2012, Rome (Italy). Registered in accordance with Belgian law, 1997. EU Transparency Register: 71635694112-37.

Aims

Facilitate mutual recognition of engineering qualifications in Europe and strengthen the position, role and responsibility of engineers in society; affirm the professional identity of engineers of Europe; strive for a single voice for the engineering profession in Europe, while acknowledging its diversity.
