Centre-stage women's concerns in the habitat movement; support and recognize community-based initiatives that strengthen women's role in fulfilling practical needs through strategic solutions; assist lobbying and advocacy efforts at the national level; pursue processes aimed at sharing roles by men and women as opposed to disempowering men; reorganize community structures to create space for women's political and social participation; balance individual differences and needs with collective leadership and empowerment; address challenges and issues related to developing indicators and gender-sensitive strategies involving women themselves.
