History

Aug 1995, as one of 9 Regional Councils of World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), at a Board Meeting in Dublin (UK). Registered in accordance with Egyptian law. Ceased to exist.

Aims

Facilitate and support the people to attain their potential in health in the region, to appreciate health as a valuable asset and to take positive action to improve further and sustain their health status to enjoy a better quality of life; provide a basis in developing strategies and provide direction to all involved in health and mental health planning and implementation towards improving the mental health and well being of the entire population; improve mental health services for populations at risk of development psychosocial problems; improve psychiatric services for the mentally disordered in the provision of care and protection by the family, community and relevant agencies.
