History
Founded by the directors of the National Geological Survey Organizations of the then 15 member states of the European Union (EU) and those of Iceland, Norway and Switzerland. 31 Dec 2004, incorporated activities of U-XF3559 - Forum of European Geological Surveys (FOREGS), which was originally referred to as Western European Geological Surveys (WEGS).
