History
1983, as a project of the UNESCO World Decade for Cultural Development. Sponsored by: C-XC2451 - Société internationale des bibliothèques et des musées des arts du spectacle (SIBMAS); C-XD1361 - International Association of Theatre Critics (IATC); C-XC1842 - International Federation for Theatre Research (IFTR). Incorporated in Canada, as a non-profit charitable corporation. Ceased to exist.
Aims
Be an encyclopaedia of nations and their theatres focusing on the period 1945 to date; provide a sociological approach to each nation's theatre arts.
