As a European Cooperation Network, assist regions dependent on and affected by the social and economic impact of restructuring of the motor vehicle industry; promote at a European level cooperation rather than competition between local authorities and regional authorities so as to promote internal cooperation and exchange of experience; evolve and implement common approaches to restructuring issues; evolve common training and retraining schemes; create new instruments to promote technology transfer in favour of SMEs; promote diversification schemes; define a close working relationship between industry and local and regional authorities, particularly at SME level.
