Founded as an interim coordinating committee by the 'Jeunesses scientifiques de Belgique', under the patronage of the Belgian National Commission for Unesco. Statutes adopted by Constituent General Assembly, 4-6 Oct 1966; modified: 13 Feb 1969; 16 Sep 1976.
Initiate, promote and coordinate, at international level, actions in the field of out-of-school scientific and technical activities for youth and the public understanding of science and technology, in cooperation with other appropriate governmental or non-governmental international organizations.
