MECC Maastricht will be hosting the 36th edition of the annual European conference of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) from 16-21 May 2026. The conference offers a forum for collaboration and knowledge exchange between environmental professionals and covers a broad spectrum of multidisciplinary topics. In the past, the European event has been held in cities such as Copenhagen, Dublin and Seville, and in 2025 it will take place in Vienna.

In 2028, Busan will host the World Congress on Computational Mechanics (WCCM), a major international academic conference that will bring together over 3,000 experts in computational mechanics from around the world. WCCM is a biennial conference organized by the International Association for Computational Mechanics. The Fab Lab Conference is an annual event that rotates globally. In 2024, the conference took place in Mexico. The conference is organised in partnership with the Fab Foundation and the average number of participants is around 800 people. The City of Oulu will act as the responsible organiser and the University of Oulu as a partner.
