Bringing the global meetings industry to Maastricht - with IAPCO

Maastricht Convention Bureau recently welcomed the IAPCO Council Meeting to Maastricht. The IAPCO Council members represent a global industry that offers strong opportunities for attracting international conferences to Europe. IAPCO-accredited professional congress organizers (PCO's) delivered more than 23,500 meetings and events worldwide in 2025 - uniting 7.7 million participants globally
Together with IAPCO and partners and stakeholders the Maastricht Convention Bureau explored key topics in the international meetings industry, such as geopolitics and AI. Regional representatives from academia, government and business joined the conversation in MECC Maastricht, showcasing the strong collaboration within the wider Maastricht region.
Next to the official meetings the visit included a sunny boat tour and a taste of Maastricht’s culinary side, with memorable moments at the oldest wineshop in the Netherlands (1717) and Château Neercanne.
