15 Jul 1971, as Abu Dhabi Fund for Arab Economic Development (ADFAED). Commenced operations in Sep 1974. Name changed, 2 Nov 1993, to Abu Dhabi Fund for Economic Development. An autonomous national development institution of the Government of Abu Dhabi and a bilateral aid institution of C-XC3038 - Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC).
Aims
Assist developing countries in the development of their economies by extending project loans, technical assistance grants and equity participation.
