Aims

Expose multiple effects of economic globalization in order to stimulate debate; seek to reverse the globalization process by encouraging ideas and activities which revitalize local economies and communities and ensure long term ecological stability; educate activists, policy makers, the general public and the media about the negative effects of economic globalization; advocate policies that are more equitable, democratic and ecologically sustainable.

Activities

Developing comprehensive website that documents alternatives models and visions with an aim to: document living alternatives - existing alternative models now in action such as renewable energy initiatives, Slow Food mouvements, seed saving practices, fair trade co-ops and participatory budget practices; catalyze a global alternatives mouvement by providing contact information of groups focusing on this work; demonstrate that their are civil society mouvements and governments which have positive, intelligent inputs. Programmes: Food and Agriculture; Alternatives to Globalization; Environmental Impacts of Economic Globalization; Technology and Globalization; Indigenous Peoples and Globalization.
