History

7 May 1990, Brussels (Belgium), at the same time as F-XF2419 - European Environment Agency (EEA), by Regulation 1210/90 of E-XE3068 - Council of the European Union, which came into force 30 Oct 1993, on decision to locate the Agency in Copenhagen (Denmark). Regulation was amended: by Council Regulation (EC) No 933/1999 of 29 Apr 1999; by Regulation (EC) No 1641/2003 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 Jul 2003.

Aims

Together with the EEA, provide the European Union and its member states with objective, reliable and comparable information on environment at European level to enable them to take necessary measures to protect the environment, assess results of these measures and ensure that the public is properly informed about the state of the environment.
