Aims

Unite teacher organizations at regional level and provide the framework for cooperation and exchange of knowledge and experiences among workers; promote and support all efforts aimed at uniting the people of the Caribbean; obtain a collective teacher and education worker opinion on matters of an educational, professional, trade union and political nature; work for improvement of education in all its aspects in the Caribbean area and ensure equal opportunity in unit territories; work towards elimination of illiteracy and functional illiteracy in every Caribbean territory; strive for establishment of a new international economic order based on justice, mutual respect, equality of rights, peaceful cooperation and political and economic independence with a view to putting an end to exploitation and under-development and to facilitate economic, social and cultural progress of all peoples of the Caribbean.
